Richmond People's Budget
Vote on projects to shape Richmond's future using ranked choice voting!
What is the Richmond People's Budget?
Richmond City Council has set aside $3 million for the 2025 budget cycle to be used on district-specific projects proposed and voted on by the public. Make your voice heard! If you live, work, or study in Richmond you can vote on which projects you want to see funded using ranked choice voting.
What projects can I vote on?
Project proposals cover a variety of issues and include things like planting trees in high-heat index neighborhoods, ensuring that there are enough bus shelters, pedestrian safety measures, improving the city's recreation options, and bringing more art to the area.
How does voting work?
Voting is open from April 1 - April 15, 2025. Voters will use ranked choice voting to select their top three projects in the district where the live, work, or study. Read more about the Richmond People's Budget and how to vote on UpVote Virginia's website.
