English Language in Emergencies
Alla Fridrikh is Associate Professor in the Department of Philology at the Rivne State University of the Humanities. Her research focuses on teaching and learning the English language in emergencies. Her current projects study the adaptation experiences of displaced Ukrainian children and their parents/caretakers in Polish secondary schools; exploring the multilingual realities of Polish host families and Ukrainian refugees; trauma-sensitive methodology and social-emotional learning for teaching foreign languages; and the role of the English language in building peace, social justice, and sustainable development in the post-war period. She has received recent support from the Kosciuszko Foundation, Wellesley College (United States), Warsaw University (Poland), Indiana University (United States), and Roskilde University (Denmark).
